What does the application pressure gauge, when fitted, tell the driver?
- A.How much air pressure is being applied to the brakes during a service application
- B.How much fuel pressure is in the rails
- C.The exact temperature of each brake drum
- D.How many miles remain before service is due
Correct answer
A. How much air pressure is being applied to the brakes during a service application
Why
An application gauge shows the pressure the foot valve is sending to the chambers as the pedal is pressed. A rising reading on a long grade with no pedal input can hint at a problem such as a dragging brake or unintended application.
