Special Driving Conditions

When must you dim your high beams for an oncoming vehicle?

  • A.Within 500 feet of the vehicle
  • B.Within 100 feet
  • C.Only when the other driver flashes first
  • D.Never, trucks are exempt
Correct answer

A. Within 500 feet of the vehicle

Why

High beams must be dimmed within 500 feet of oncoming traffic, and also when following another vehicle closely. Glare can blind the other driver for several seconds at exactly the wrong moment.
